Job Summary
The Assistant Accounting Manager supports the Accounting Manager in overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with statutory requirements, and efficient financial reporting within the automobile business. The role involves managing accounts payable/receivable, inventory accounting, taxation, audits, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Financial Operations
- Assist in managing day-to-day accounting activities including general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure accurate accounting of vehicle sales, spare parts, service revenue, and incentives
- Monitor inventory accounting for vehicles, spare parts, and accessories
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions
- Ensure timely invoicing, collections, and payments
- Reconcile dealer, vendor, and customer accounts
Taxation & Compliance
- Assist in preparation and filing of GST/VAT, TDS/withholding tax, income tax returns, and other statutory filings
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and automobile industry regulations
- Coordinate with tax consultants and auditors
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis
- Monitor operating expenses and suggest cost optimization measures
- Track margins on vehicle sales, services, and spare parts
Audit & Reporting
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and accounting policies
- Prepare MIS reports for management decision-making
Team Coordination
- Guide and support junior accounting staff
- Coordinate with sales, service, procurement, and warehouse departments
Qualifications & SkillsEducation
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
- CA / CPA / CMA / MBA (Finance) preferred
Experience
- 4–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in the automobile industry
- Experience with dealerships, OEMs, or auto component companies is an advantage
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, or similar)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial analysis tools

- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
