Assistant Branch Manager – Harris County Public Library

Location: Harris County Public Library, 7511 GA 116, Hamilton, GA

Job Type: Part-time (29 hours per week), one evening per week and every other Saturday

Hourly Rate: $18 per hour Reports To: Branch Manager

Position Overview

The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for helping lead daily library operations, assist with programming and outreach, support staff and volunteers, create engaging social media content, and help make the library a vibrant hub for the community.

The Assistant Branch Manager plays a key role in helping manage the operations of the library including:

• Assists with hiring and training staff.
• Directs and assists with circulation desk operations.
• Maintains a welcoming and inviting library environment.
• Registers new patrons; checks materials in and out; assesses and collects fines and fees.
• Assists patrons with their questions and concerns.
• Assists with planning, developing, and leading engaging programs for all ages.
• Supports library outreach initiatives and community engagement efforts.
• Creates marketing materials to publicize programs and services.
• Assists in coordinating building and facilities maintenance.
• Completes required reports, including program and service statistics.
• Assists in recruiting and organizing the work of volunteers.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree or higher preferred.
• Two years of experience in a management position.
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills.
• Library experience is preferred.
