Employment Type: Part-Time
Compensation: $30.00 / hour
Location: St. Francis Healthcare Facility
General Purpose
The Assistant Business Office Manager supports overall facility operations by effectively maintaining business office systems, ensuring financial and regulatory compliance, and assisting with the supervision of office staff.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Financial & Billing Support
Participate in routine billing and payment processes, including the accurate preparation of bank deposits.
Assist in managing the resident trust fund, which includes printing and distributing monthly financial statements.
Actively undertake collection activities for bad debts and outstanding accounts.
Authorizations, Applications & Compliance
Obtain managed care, Medi-Cal, or Medicaid authorizations, including managing bedholds.
Assist residents and families with the Medi-Cal or Medicaid application process.
Track Medi-Cal and Medicaid redeterminations to ensure continuous coverage.
Prepare Treatment Authorization Requests (TARs) accurately and as needed.
Operations & Census Management
Maintain the facility census and promptly report all resident status changes.
Complete daily operational requirements by scheduling and assigning tasks to employees, following up closely on work results.
Attend facility stand-up meetings at the request of the Administrator.
Supervisory Requirements
Assist with the overall supervision, management, and leadership of the business office staff.
Supervise business office personnel daily, including taking appropriate, policy-aligned disciplinary measures when necessary.
Job Qualifications & Requirements
Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare business office, long-term care facility, or skilled nursing environment is highly preferred.
Knowledge: Familiarity with Medi-Cal/Medicaid applications, TARs, managed care authorizations, and resident trust funds.
Leadership: Strong supervisory skills with the ability to assign tasks, follow up on results, and manage a small team.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to work harmoniously with staff, residents, families, and facility administration.
Attributes: High level of integrity, strong organizational skills, and strict adherence to confidentiality/HIPAA guidelines.
