Duties
- Assist in overseeing daily business office operations, including billing, collections, and patient account management
- Support medical coding activities using DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding standards to ensure accurate reimbursement
- Collaborate with clinical staff to verify medical records, documentation accuracy, and proper coding for billing purposes
- Manage medical billing processes utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to optimize revenue cycle flow
- Facilitate medical collections by following up on outstanding accounts and resolving billing discrepancies efficiently
- Maintain comprehensive records of medical procedures, diagnoses, and billing information in accordance with privacy regulations
- Provide training or guidance on medical terminology, coding updates, and documentation best practices to team members

Experience
- Proven experience in a medical office setting with a focus on billing, coding, or revenue cycle management
- Strong knowledge of DRG classifications, CPT coding procedures, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for documentation and billing processes
- Demonstrated ability to handle medical records accurately while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations
- Experience in medical collection efforts and resolving billing discrepancies effectively
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Prior experience working with insurance claims processing and understanding of healthcare reimbursement protocols
