Assistant Buyer

Talented Retail Assistant Buyer is needed for a women's fashion and footwear retailer. We're a fun, upscale specialty chain featuring women's shoes, clothing and accessories across a string of lovely boutiques. We value great experience, and may even be willing to train the right new go-getter, as well!

Strongly Preferred: 2+ years experience in: retail sales and/or buying in upscale women’s fashion, shoes, clothing, accessories, and/or handbags. Fashion Sales/ Merchandising graduates are preferred, as is social media job/internship experience and a knowledge of pivot tables in Excel.

Required: Strong analytical and data-entry skills; A confident, outgoing, can-do, "roll-up-your sleeves" work-ethic and personality; Elevated sense of style and fashion; Strong organizational skills, must be detail-oriented and accurate; Ability to multi-task and handle various projects in a fast-paced, retail store environment; Computer literacy and accurate typing skills, including Word and Excel; Strong communication skills; Strong customer service skills; Sales and relationship building skills; Ability to climb stairs and at times assist in the physical tasks of a retail store environment (i.e., stock, sales, etc.); Have a "passion for fashion." Willingness to work additional hours as needed during busy sales seasons. Bachelors degree required or shortly expected. We are unable to consider candidates at this time who do not meet these requirements.

Responsibilities include:

- Assisting multiple buyers

- Assisting the buyers with all aspects of the Open-to-Buy plan and placing orders

- Communicating, negotiating and maintaining relationships with vendors

- Examining reports, numbers, and spreadsheets

- Generating re-orders and requests for RA's and RTV's

- Researching and producing inventory and selling reports

- Maintaining and updating product merchandise books

- Attending trade shows and buying appointments

- Communicating with stores on product knowledge and responding to their merchandise requests

- Data entry in our retail software program

- Assisting store associates as needed during busy sales seasons

- Helping to update and maintain all platforms of social media

- Creating and uploading new product files for the web site

- Assisting warehouse in receipts and website shipments when necessary

- Replenishing merchandise

Location: Greenwich, CT (+ travel to other nearby sites in NY and CT at times).
