Job Summary

A prestigious 5-star resort in the Sealine area of Qatar is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to lead and manage the resort’s financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, internal controls, and supporting executive management with financial insights to ensure profitability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee all accounting operations including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Inventory.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
• Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations, and treasury functions.
• Ensure timely closing of books and accurate reporting.

Budgeting & Cost Control

• Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts in coordination with department heads.
• Monitor departmental expenditures and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
• Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Implement cost-control procedures, especially in F&B, housekeeping, and operational departments.

Compliance & Internal Controls

• Ensure compliance with Qatar financial regulations and tax requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage annual audit processes.
• Establish and maintain strong internal control systems.
• Safeguard company assets and prevent financial discrepancies.

Hospitality-Specific Oversight

• Monitor daily revenue reports including room revenue, F&B sales, and other income streams.
• Supervise Night Audit functions and revenue reconciliation.
• Oversee inventory management and periodic stock audits.
• Analyze occupancy trends, ADR, and revenue performance.

Team Leadership

• Lead and supervise the accounting team.
• Provide training and guidance to finance staff.
• Ensure departmental KPIs are met.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA / ACCA / CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum 5–8 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a hospitality or 5-star hotel/resort environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and hospitality accounting systems.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Opera, SAP, Sun System, or similar).
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a remote resort environment (Sealine area).
