Pennbridge Hospitality is excited to announce the opening of the newest hotel in Downtown Boise — the stunning AC Hotel & Element Downtown Boise — and we are building our Engineering Leadership Team!This 296-room dual-branded property will redefine hospitality in the heart of the city and feature a vibrant restaurant and bar on the 15th floor with incredible views of downtown. Be part of something special from day one!We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Assistant Chief Engineer to support the Chief Engineer in overseeing all engineering and maintenance operations for this dynamic dual-brand property. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and overall functionality of the hotel’s building systems, guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house operations.

Position SummaryThe Assistant Chief Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining the physical integrity of the property while helping lead, train, and develop the engineering team. This individual must be technically skilled, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-brand environment.As a dual-branded property, this role requires strong operational awareness and the ability to maintain brand standards for both AC and Element while ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing daily engineering operations
  • Supervise, train, and support the engineering team
  • Implement and maintain Preventative Maintenance programs
  • Support scheduling, inventory control, and department budgeting
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Oversee general repairs including drywall, tile, carpet, and painting
  • Maintain life safety systems and ensure compliance with local, state, and brand regulations
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest maintenance requests
  • Assist with preparation for brand inspections and audits
  • Ensure all AC and Element brand standards are upheld

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of hotel engineering or facilities maintenance experience required
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience in a dual-brand or full-service hotel environment is a plus
  • HVAC certification preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building systems
  • Experience implementing and managing preventative maintenance programs
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if needed
  • Experience with Aquatic Systems and Equipment (Spa)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently
  • Ability to bend, climb ladders, work overhead, and navigate stairs frequently
  • Comfortable responding to emergency maintenance situations

Salary Range: $55,000- $60,000

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
