Job Summary:
The Mental Health/SUD agency is seeking an Assistant Clinical Director to support the oversight and coordination of clinical operations within the organization. This leadership role works closely with the Clinical Director to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based mental health services while maintaining compliance with state, federal, and accrediting body regulations. The Assistant Clinical Director plays a key role in supporting clinical staff, monitoring service delivery, and helping implement policies and procedures that promote effective, client-centered care. The ideal candidate is a licensed mental health professional with strong clinical experience, leadership potential, and the ability to support team development and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Clinical Director in overseeing therapy, psychiatric, and case management services. Assist in supervising and supporting licensed therapists, psychologists, case managers, interns, and other clinical staff. Provide guidance to staff regarding clinical documentation, treatment planning, and service delivery standards. Assist in the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and best practices. Ensure clinical services remain compliant with legal, ethical, and professional standards. Conduct regular chart reviews and documentation audits to support quality assurance. Support training initiatives, supervision structures, and professional development opportunities for clinical staff. Collaborate with administrative and operational departments to promote integrated, client-centered care. Assist in addressing client concerns, grievances, and crisis situations when necessary. Monitor clinical productivity, service outcomes, and documentation compliance. Support program development initiatives and assist with reporting clinical outcomes to leadership.Serve as a resource for staff regarding clinical processes and agency expectations.
Qualifications
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field. Current and valid clinical license (e.g., LCSW, LISW, LMFT, LPCC, Psychologist) in Ohio. Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity preferred. Strong understanding of mental health diagnoses, treatment modalities, and ethical/legal standards. Ability to support and mentor clinical staff while maintaining professional accountability. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and clinical documentation requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with trauma-informed care, integrated behavioral health, or substance use disorder treatment. Knowledge of Medicaid, managed care, and insurance authorization processes. Experience supporting clinical quality improvement initiatives.
