JOB SUMMARY

Engineering Design Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Construction Superintendent to join our team in Cookeville, TN. As a fully integrated Engineering and Design-Build firm, we specialize in sustainable architectural and engineering design, BIM coordination, and construction. In this role, you will support the Construction Superintendent by overseeing daily site operations, managing subcontractors, coordinating schedules, and ensuring project quality and safety. We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong leadership and communication skills who is committed to delivering high-quality construction projects on time and within budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Construction Superintendent in managing projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and specifications
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, ensuring their adherence to safety protocols and quality standards
• Communicate regularly with project stakeholders, including owners, architects, and engineers, to ensure project progress
• Assist with the procurement and delivery of construction materials and equipment
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
• Track and report on project progress, adjusting as needed to mitigate risks and support project success

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in commercial construction, with supervisory or assistant superintendent experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of construction techniques and materials
• Strong leadership and effective communication skills
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction
• Experience with construction management software and tools
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure while meeting tight deadlines
• Valid driver's license

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety Certification
• First Aid/CPR Certification
• PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification (optional)
• LEED Accreditation (optional for sustainable projects)
• Other trade-specific certifications

COMPENSATION

• Competitive base salary: $70,000 to $90,000, commensurate with experience

SCHEDULE: Monday to Friday

LOCATION REQUIREMENT:

• Must live within 25 miles of Cookeville, TN, or relocate before starting work (Required)

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
