Assistant Controller- Night Shift

The Assistant Controller is responsible for supporting the Controller in managing the company’s accounting operations and financial reporting processes. This role assists with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensures the accuracy of financial statements, and helps maintain effective internal controls and compliance with applicable accounting standards. The Assistant Controller works closely with internal teams and external partners to support financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders
• Review general ledger activity, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Provide mentorship and guidance to accounting staff as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Preferred / Bonus Skills

• Experience using QuickBooks (Online or Desktop)
• CPA or CPA candidate
• Prior experience in a fast-paced or scaling organization
• Exposure to audit or public accounting environments
