Position: Assistant County Attorney Location: Pine City Courthouse

Union: Non-Union FLSA Status: Exempt


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Assistant County Attorneys have challenging and meaningful cases within a flexible and family-friendly environment. An Assistant County Attorney performs professional work prosecuting any level of criminal offense (misdemeanor/gross misdemeanor/felony/juvenile); represents the County in child protection and support matters; assists the County Attorney with civil matters; advises the County Board on lawsuits or other legal issues; and does work as apparent or assigned. The anticipated caseload for this opening is misdemeanor prosecution and juvenile-related case work (juvenile court, child protection, etc.).

The office consists of supportive, knowledgeable, and collegial attorneys and staff. Generous yearly performance increases are available. This is a hybrid position, allowing both on-site work at the Pine County Courthouse and remote work. Pine County is the fastest growing county in Minnesota and is known for a wide variety of outdoor recreational activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Juris Doctorate. Experience as a judicial clerk or related legal experience is preferred. License to practice law in the State of Minnesota upon hire.

Pay Grade: Grade 14; Starting $100,000 - $144,842 DOQ

Rating Method: The hiring process will include a formal interview and may include testing and/or other methods of selection.
