Position Overview

We are seeking a positive, energetic, and growth-oriented Deli Assistant Manager to

help lead our daily deli operations. In this role, you will work closely with the Deli Manager to oversee staff, maintain high culinary standards, ensure strict food safety compliance, and keep our display cases beautifully merchandised.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations: Support the Deli Manager in supervising team members, managing shift schedules, and maintaining workflow efficiency.
• Maintain quality standards: Oversee the prep, slicing, wrapping, and presentation of all deli items, hot foods, and prepared meals.
• Manage inventory: Handle product ordering, receive shipments, track stock levels, and implement proper rotation to minimize shrink.
• Ensure safety compliance: Enforce strict health department guidelines, food safety protocols, and sanitation rules across the department.
• Deliver excellent service: Train staff to provide friendly, prompt, and high-quality service to our loyal country store guests.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a restaurant, deli, or grocery environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with commercial deli equipment (slicers, scales, ovens) and food preparation.
• Solid understanding of inventory management, pricing, and retail merchandising.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and early morning or closing shifts.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
