Assistant Director

The Morris Area Child Care Center is committed to providing high-quality early childhood education and care for children ages 6 weeks through preschool. The Assistant Director is a full-time, dual-role position that combines classroom teaching with administrative leadership.

This role assists the Director with overall program operations, including educational programming, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children, providing excellent customer service to families, communicating with community partners, and ensuring compliance with Minnesota Rule 3 licensing standards. The Assistant Director will also serve as a classroom teacher approximately half of the time, supporting staff and maintaining continuity of care.

The Assistant Director works closely with the Director and reports to the Board of Directors. We are seeking a motivated professional with strong communication and leadership skills who is passionate about early childhood education and committed to helping MACCC continue to provide exceptional care for children and families in our community.

Qualifications:

- Must be teacher qualified or working on becoming teacher qualified according to Minnesota Rule 3

- Ability to support teachers with lesson planning, classroom management, and child behavior guidance

- Experience working with children from infancy through preschool

- Helps maintain a positive workplace culture

- Strong communication skills with staff, families, and community partners

- Ability to handle parent concerns professionally and calmly

- Experience with administrative and detail orientated tasks

- Knowledge of licensing & compliance needs or the willingness to learn

The pay range for this position is $20-$23 per hour. Assistant Director receives paid time off and discounted childcare.
