Overview
Service Stars is seeking a dynamic, community minded individual to fill a hybrid role that blends direct teaching responsibilities with essential administrative and program support functions. This position is ideal for an educator who enjoys working with students while also contributing to program coordination, operations, and continuous improvement. The role plays a key part in ensuring our educational programs are effective, well-organized, and aligned with our mission. Our ideal candidate will enthusiastically cultivate a passion for community service among our students and staff. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and classroom teaching experience. This is a part-time position with flexible hours in Newton, MA. Pay is hourly and negotiable.

Duties

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and implementing educational programs and activities that align with our mission
  • Assist with curriculum development, program evaluation, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Coordinate with staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure smooth program delivery
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and planning sessions
  • Communicate professionally with students, families, and community partners
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Supervise classroom activities and provide mentorship to educators and interns
  • Evaluate program effectiveness through observations, feedback collection, and data analysis to inform continuous improvement
  • Promote a positive atmosphere that encourages active participation, curiosity, and respect among learners and staff

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Child Development, or related field; university experience is highly preferred
  • Proven experience in educational settings or program management
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, staff, parents, and community partners
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Passion for education and commitment to fostering inclusive environments
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support program activities
