Primrose School of Chapel Hill at Briar Chapel is hiring a Full-Time Assistant Director (Co-Director Level) to help lead a preschool program rooted in strong relationships, thoughtful structure, and a genuine love for early childhood education. We are seeking a credentialed leader who is passionate about children’s development and equally committed to supporting teachers, building positive culture, and creating classrooms where everyone can thrive. You will partner closely with an experienced Director to guide daily operations, strengthen team performance, and ensure every child and family feels known and valued.

Your Role

This is a true shared leadership position. You will:

  • Co-lead daily school operations
  • Serve as Administrator-in-Charge per NC licensing requirements
  • Support compliance and maintain high standards of health and safety
  • Partner on staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and performance management
  • Spend time in classrooms coaching teachers and supporting child development
  • Mentor and develop educators into confident professionals
  • Build strong family relationships and strengthen community trust

You will lead with both structure and heart.

Required Qualifications

  • Active NC Child Care Administrator Credential (Level III or higher), or eligible prior to start
  • Bachelor’s degree in ECE, Elementary Education, or related field (or qualifying equivalent)
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in a licensed childcare setting
  • Strong organizational skills with a collaborative leadership style
  • Ability to balance accountability with empathy
