Assistant Director - Daycare

Our Assistant Directors play an integral role in customer service and the organizational strength of our company. The Assistant Director will provide administrative support, oversee the quality of care of the children in our classrooms and play a vital role in the day to day operation of the center. Full time/flexible availability is required in this role.

Required Education and Experience

You must be able to meet one of the following:

  • An Associate’s Degree or higher
  • A CDA or two years college including at least four courses in child development or early childhood education
  • A current designation under the career pathways level two through OCCRRA plus two years of experience working as a child care staff member in a licensed child care program
  • At least four college level courses in child development or early childhood education from an accredited college, university, or technical college plus two years of experience working as a child care staff member in a licensed child care program

Additionally, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a childcare setting
  • Professional appearance and communication skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • The ability to use constructive feedback as well as offer ideas for improvement
  • The desire to work with parents, children and staff in an environment that promotes healthy relationships, respect, communication and creativity
  • Leadership experience

Assistant Director Responsibilities and Duties

Include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the quality of care and support classrooms on a day to day basis
  • Provide parents with exceptional customer service, including information about the center, our services and programs
  • Maintain client accounts, including billing for Educational Programs and work with clients to resolve any account issues
  • Purchase supplies for the center as needed
  • Oversee the organization and implementation of our literature-based curriculum
  • Run reports and maintain accurate child files
  • Keep clients informed about what is happening with the center through email, signs and postcards
  • Take charge of the center in the Director's absence and ensure compliance with state and corporate policies and guidelines

Physical Demands

Physical demands refer to the level and duration of physical exertion generally required to perform critical tasks in support of critical job functions.

  • Standing and walking throught the majority of the shift
  • Lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
  • Reaching overhead
  • Stooping, crouching and kneeling
  • The ability to hear, understand and distinguish speech
  • Visual acuity - near, far and peripheral vision

Pay: $19.00 per hour
