What you will doas the Assistant Director, EmployeeRelations:
  • Establish and deliverthe framework for conduct and performance management. Thisincludes developing a suit of toolkits andtemplates.
  • Provide high-leveladvice and case management of formal employee relationsmatters, including highly sensitive and complex matters. Thisincludes, where required, managing formal investigations, andrepresenting the AER to external parties such as Comcare andthe Fair Work Commission.
  • Partner with the AERCapability team and AER managers to identify and deliver onopportunities to support individual employees'professional development.
  • Review, develop andmaintain people policies, industrial instruments and proceduresto support the Enterprise Agreement and the AER.
Aboutyou

In order tosucceed in the role, you will have:

  • Demonstratedunderstanding and application of HR frameworks (legislation,strategies, policies, guidance, systems and practices)regarding employee relations, performance management, complexhealth and case management, and formalinvestigations/procedures.
  • Effectiveinterpersonal and communication skills, including the abilityto coach, consult, negotiate and collaborate effectively with avariety of stakeholders, with varying knowledge levels, tofacilitate positive outcomes.
  • Relevant tertiaryqualifications in psychology, human resources, AHRIaccreditation and/or equivalent relevantexperience.

Thefollowing job specific criteria are also highlydesirable:

  • Recentexperience within the APS setting managing performance,conduct, complex health, case management and formalinvestigations/procedures.
