Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Athletic Communication will report to the Director of Athletic Communication and work collaboratively to promote USI’s 19 men’s and women’s intercollegiate varsity teams. This includes serving as creator of social media content, writing game stories, notes and press releases, updating USIScreamingEagles.com, updating and archiving records and assisting with photography and video packages.
The position serves as a primary contact for several athletic teams and will publicize those sports across a wide variety of platforms using multiple tools including photography, video, graphics and creative story telling.
The Assistant Director of Athletic Communication should possess excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well as a strong ability to work independently and collaboratively. The position will play a crucial role in building Athletics’ reputation and audience by producing high-quality content that engages and excites fans.
Duties/Responsibilities
Manage and update USIScreamingEagles.com.Required Knowledge and Skills
Bachelor's degree, preferably in sports communication or a related field.Preferred Knowledge and Skills
Experience with statistical software such as NCAA Live Stats, Presto, Stat Input and Statcrew. Experience with Baseball/Softball Stringer is a plus.Functional Requirements
Remaining in a stationary position at a desk or workstation for extended periods of time for the majority of assigned duties.Regular Work Hours/Travel Requirements
Standard office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.About USI
