Job Summary
CMVC is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Director of Career Services to lead and elevate the career placement function across our multi-campus network. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for building employer partnerships, driving graduate employment outcomes, and equipping students with the career readiness skills they need to succeed in South Florida’s healthcare workforce. The ideal candidate is a connector and relationship builder who thrives in a fast-paced environment, understands the vocational education landscape, and is passionate about opening doors for underserved communities.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and manage the Career Services team across all CMVC campuses, ensuring consistent delivery of career readiness programming and job placement support
- Build and maintain a robust network of employer partners including hospitals, clinics, dental offices, medical practices, and healthcare staffing agencies to generate externship and employment opportunities for CMVC students and graduates
- Develop and implement a comprehensive career services strategy aligned with CMVC’s enrollment growth goals, accreditation requirements, and Florida CIE placement rate reporting standards
- Oversee all externship coordination in partnership with academic and program directors, ensuring students are placed in quality clinical and professional settings that align with their program of study
- Track, analyze, and report graduate employment and placement rate data in compliance with Florida CIE, U.S. Department of Education, and accrediting body requirements
- Design and facilitate career readiness workshops covering resume writing, interview preparation, professional presentation, LinkedIn profile development, and job search strategies
- Collaborate closely with Admissions, Student Services, and Academic Affairs to support students from enrollment through employment, providing a seamless student journey
- Serve as the primary institutional liaison for workforce development partnerships, community organizations, and healthcare industry associations in South Florida and beyond
- Manage the CMVC Jobwise Portal and other career platforms, ensuring postings are current, relevant, and accessible to students and alumni
- Develop and maintain alumni engagement initiatives to support long-term career growth and foster a strong CMVC professional community
- Prepare regular reports on placement rates, employer engagement activity, and career services program effectiveness for leadership and accrediting bodies
- Stay current on healthcare workforce trends, hiring demand, and credential requirements across CMVC’s program areas to inform career advising and employer outreach strategies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Career Counseling, Higher Education Administration, Human Resources, Business, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in career services, workforce development, employer relations, or talent acquisition — experience in a postsecondary or vocational education setting strongly preferred
- Demonstrated track record of building and maintaining employer partnerships and driving measurable graduate employment outcomes
- Knowledge of Florida Commission for Independent Education (CIE) placement rate reporting requirements and related compliance standards is a strong plus
- Experience managing or coordinating externship or clinical placement programs in healthcare or allied health fields preferred
- Strong understanding of the South Florida healthcare employment landscape and familiarity with regional healthcare employers, staffing agencies, and workforce boards
- Proficiency with career management platforms, student information systems, and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with job boards and LinkedIn Recruiter is a plus
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred, given CMVC’s student population and community
- Exceptional relationship-building, communication, and public speaking skills with the ability to engage students, employers, and institutional stakeholders at all levels
- Proven ability to lead a team, manage competing priorities, and deliver results in a multi-campus, fast-paced environment
- Genuine passion for student success, equity, and expanding access to career opportunities for diverse and underserved communities

Schedule: Monday – Friday | Some evening and weekend availability may be required
