Assistant Director of Daycare

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Assistant Director of Daycare to join our vibrant early childhood education team. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director in overseeing daily classroom activities, ensuring they align with developmental best practices and licensing requirements
  • Support staff in implementing age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
  • Supervise and mentor childcare staff, providing guidance on classroom management, behavior management, and caregiving techniques
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are consistently followed, including first aid procedures and emergency response plans
  • Coordinate with parents and guardians to communicate children's progress and address any concerns effectively
  • Assist with staff scheduling, training sessions, and maintaining compliance with childcare regulations
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive environment that supports children with special needs or disabilities through tailored activities and accommodations

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children across various age groups such as infants, toddlers, preschoolers, or school-age children
  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
  • Prior classroom management experience in a daycare or preschool setting
  • Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or working with individuals with disabilities are a plus
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and community partners
  • Ability to lead by example while fostering a positive team environment focused on safety and quality care
  • Familiarity with licensing standards for daycare centers and experience in classroom supervision is highly desirable

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
