Responsibilities
- Assist the Director in managing daily daycare operations, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of all classrooms and activities
- Support classroom teachers with curriculum implementation, behavior management, and classroom management strategies
- Supervise staff to promote a positive, collaborative work environment focused on high-quality childcare and early childhood education
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, safety standards, and health protocols at all times
- Coordinate staff schedules, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance team skills
- Engage with parents and families to provide updates on children’s progress and address any concerns promptly
- Lead emergency response procedures, including first aid administration and safety drills, maintaining a secure environment for all children
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings, including classroom experience with toddlers and infants
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in childcare
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience supervising or supporting staff teams
- Certifications such as First Aid and CPR are required; additional certifications in special education or working with individuals with disabilities are a plus
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and community partners
- Passion for caregiving, nurturing young learners, and fostering inclusive environments that support diverse needs
