Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our dedicated team at a leading skilled nursing facility. Responsibilities
- Assist the Director of Nursing in managing nursing staff, including supervising nurse managers and care teams to ensure smooth shift operations and optimal resident care delivery.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and review of individualized care plans for residents, ensuring they meet medical needs and regulatory standards.
- Monitor compliance with HIPAA regulations, medical records management, documentation review, and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems to safeguard resident information.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate resident admissions, discharges, and transitions between levels of care such as assisted living, home health, hospice care, or acute care.
- Supervise nursing documentation processes including MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments and ensure accurate coding for Medicare billing purposes.
- Lead quality assurance initiatives by reviewing medical records, ensuring proper documentation review, and maintaining high standards in nursing practices.
- Support shift management by scheduling staff efficiently while fostering a positive work environment that promotes leadership development and supervising experience among team members.
- Ensure all nursing activities comply with state and federal regulations while maintaining a focus on resident safety and comfort.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement through staff education on medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, and best practices in nursing management.
Experience
- Proven experience working in nursing home settings with a strong background in assisted living, home health, hospice care, or acute care environments.
- Demonstrated supervisory or nurse management experience with a track record of leading teams effectively within a healthcare facility.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems used for documentation review and medical records management.
- Knowledge of Medicare regulations, care plans development, and compliance standards related to skilled nursing facilities.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, physiology principles, and HIPAA regulations to ensure accurate documentation and resident confidentiality.
- Experience managing shift schedules while balancing operational needs with staff well-being.

Pay: $88,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
