The Assistant Director of Operations plays a key role in driving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Admissions Office. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, this position leads and supports the day-to-day operations of the department, oversees recruitment and yield events, and enhances outreach efforts through strategic coordination. The Assistant Director collaborates across departments, manages vendor relationships, supervises staff, and ensures operational excellence in areas such as file review, inventory, event management, and CRM optimization. This role is ideal for an organized, proactive professional who thrives in a collaborative and dynamic environment focused on student recruitment and enrollment success.
What You'll Do:
Lead operational processes within the Admissions Office, including file review coordination and application workflow management in Slate CRM.
Supervise the Administrative Assistant and oversee inventory and purchasing of marketing materials, giveaways, and office supplies.
Plan, coordinate, and execute key recruitment and yield events such as Academic Days, Scholarship Days, and summer orientation (Black & Gold Day).
Manage event logistics, including communication, publicity, registration, and post-event follow-up using Slate/CRM tools.
Collaborate with faculty and departments on academic and scholarship events.
Support CRM communication campaigns through email and text messaging.
Serve as liaison for the Honors and Music Programs, ensuring timely communication and coordination with program directors.
Lead the Faculty Ambassadors program to foster engagement between admitted students and faculty.
Identify and implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency and continuity.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Strong organizational, project management, and event planning skills.
Experience in vendor coordination and cross-departmental collaboration.
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication abilities.
Experience with Slate CRM and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with generative AI prompting preferred.
