Assistant Editor

Key Responsibilities: Editorial & Content Creation

· Research, pitch, and write articles, features, and news stories relevant to the maritime, shipping, and logistics sector.

· Conduct interviews with industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders.

· Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with editorial guidelines.

· Collaborate with the design team for visually appealing and impactful magazine layouts.

Industry Research & Networking

· Stay updated on industry trends, policies, and developments to identify story opportunities.

· Build and maintain a network of industry contacts to gather information and insights.

· Represent the publication at industry events and conferences to source stories and features.

Digital & Social Media Management

· Manage and update the publication’s social media channels with engaging content.

· Draft and send regular newsletters to subscribers, ensuring high-quality copywriting and relevance.

· Repurpose magazine content for digital platforms to drive engagement and reach.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, English Literature, or related field.

· 3–6 years of experience in journalism, editorial roles, or industry publications (B2B experience preferred).

· Strong interviewing, reporting, and storytelling skills.

· Excellent command over English grammar, writing style, and editing.

· Ability to work on tight deadlines while handling multiple projects.

· Proficiency in social media management and basic content management systems (CMS).

· Understanding of the maritime, shipping, or logistics sector is a strong advantage.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹45,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
