Assistant Editor (Editing + Color + After Effects) — Contract-to-Hire

Skye Link Media is a premium creative team based out of Enventys Studios in Uptown Charlotte. We make cinematic, high-taste content for founders, brands, and events, work designed to create trust, momentum, and real results.

We’re looking for a part-time assistant editor who’s hungry to improve, wants real reps, and wants to grow with a lean team. This starts as a contract role, and if it’s a fit, it can expand over time.

This is primarily an editing + post position. If you’re also the type who likes being around production (and you’ve got the instincts for it), there’s room to get involved, but post is the home base.

The role (what you’ll actually be doing)

You’ll support our post-production flow, turning footage from studio shoots, brand projects, and occasional events into clean, premium deliverables. Most weeks that means short-form edits, with opportunities to support longer cuts as you grow.

Day-to-day / week-to-week

Editing short-form clips for social (Reels/Shorts/TikTok) with strong pacing and intention

Building multiple versions when needed (different hooks, lengths, captions, rhythms)

Pulling selects and assembling rough cuts from longer recordings (interviews/podcasts/events)

Tightening pacing, cleaning up timelines, and making the story land

Basic-to-intermediate color correction so projects feel consistent and premium

Light After Effects polish (titles, lower thirds, subtle motion, simple graphics)

Exporting across formats (vertical, square, 16x9) and delivering clean files

Keeping projects organized: folder structure, versioning, and “final-final” clarity

Taking feedback and turning revisions quickly without getting sloppy

Responsibilities (what we rely on you for)

Deliver edits on time with quality and consistency

Keep post workflow organized and easy to collaborate on

Communicate clearly, ask good questions early, flag issues early

Protect the brand standard: we’d rather ship less than ship sloppy

Contribute to a team culture that’s fast-moving, positive, and high-standard

What we’re looking for

Charlotte-local (or close) and able to plug into Enventys when needed

A few strong editing samples that show taste (portfolio > résumé)

Good instincts for pacing, story, and what works on social

Reliable and responsive, you follow through and you don’t disappear

Coachable, hungry, and excited to grow through real reps

Open to being a “Swiss Army knife” when needed (but editing is the priority)

DaVinci Resolve color experience

After Effects beyond basics (motion graphics, compositing, clean animations)

Basic audio cleanup comfort

Interest in production support (BTS capture, on-set help) as an occasional add-on

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
