Assistant ERP Manager

Established in 1926, Mutual Trading Co., Inc. was originally a small co-op organization for centralized purchasing of basic import foods to service the needs of the early Japanese immigrant society in Southern California. We've grown nearly 100 years old now, and command a premiere position among Japanese foodservice suppliers, as well as fill a key role as "Culinary Ambassador" promoting Japanese foods worldwide. Currently, we import, manufacture, and distribute over 8,000 Japanese foods, beverages, restaurant equipment and supplies.

Essential Job Functions

1. ERP Implementation & Project Management

  • Support ERP implementation projects for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central across U.S. locations.
  • Assist in gathering and documenting business requirements and aligning them with system capabilities.
  • Coordinate project tasks, timelines, and resources to support on-time delivery.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business processes and support system alignment.
  • Identify and escalate potential risks or issues to management.

2. System Configuration & Data Migration

  • Assist with system configuration and customization of Business Central modules.
  • Coordinate with ERP vendors for support, troubleshooting, and minor enhancements.
  • Support data migration efforts, including data validation and testing to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with system integrations (APIs, EDI, etc.) under guidance.

3. User Training & Support

  • Develop user manuals and conduct role-based training for end-users.
  • Provide post-go-live support and system maintenance.
  • Collect user feedback regularly and work with relevant departments to drive continuous functional improvements.

4. System Optimization & Enhancements

  • Support ongoing system maintenance, updates, and minor enhancements.
  • Assist in identifying process improvements and system optimization opportunities.
  • Support reporting needs and basic data analysis for business operations.
  • Participate in testing and implementation of new features or system updates.

5. Other Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business needs and system functionality.
  • Monitor system performance and assist in resolving operational or technical issues.
  • Maintain system documentation and update procedures as needed.
  • Provide support to internal IT and external vendors for issue resolution.
  • Attend Company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Other duties as required from manager.
  • Obligation to answer to all management as requested.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and work in an office setting for extended period of time.
  • Ability to type and use the computer for extended period of time.
  • Ability to walk, talk, hear, climb, balance, reach, bend, kneel, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Working Conditions

o Noise Level: Normal to loud while in the office.

o Location: Indoors, with travel if necessary.

Other Requirements

  • Intermediate level English required – Read/write/speak/listen.
  • Business level Japanese preferred – Read/write/speak/listen.
  • Overnight business travel required. Occasional off-hour work support required.
  • Maintain a positive attitude.
  • Able to work independently and efficiently in a team.
  • Able to adapt to frequent changes in assignment and workload.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with system upgrades and user training is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Microsoft ERP system or other relevant experience required.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Knowledge of technical management and information analysis.
  • Knowledge of software and operating systems.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent user training, coaching, and end-user support skills.
  • Knowledge of Japanese foods and sakes preferred.
