Munz Construction is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our estimating team in a training-based role.
This position is ideal for someone who wants to build a long-term career in construction estimating, especially candidates with hands-on field experience who are ready to transition into an office role
About the Role
This is not a senior estimator position.
You will work alongside experienced team members to learn how we price and prepare residential remodeling projects. Over time, you will develop the skills needed to take on your own estimates and grow within the company.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Organized and detail-driven
- Comfortable working with numbers and data
- Interested in learning systems and processes
- Motivated to grow into a higher-level role over time
Responsibilities (Training Phase)
- Assist in preparing project estimates and budgets
- Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and field information
- Gather and organize subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Support proposal preparation and documentation
- Maintain organized files and estimating records
- Work closely with sales, project managers, and senior estimators
- Learn Munz Construction’s estimating standards and systems
Who This Role Is For
- Someone with 0–3 years of experience in estimating (or none at all)
- Someone from the field (carpenter, foreman, installer, etc.) looking to move into the office
- Someone with strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn
- Someone who wants a stable career path, not just a job
Who This Role Is NOT For
- Senior or lead estimators looking for full autonomy
- Candidates expecting to immediately run large or complex projects independently
What You'll Learn

Career Growth Path
This role is designed as the entry point into our estimating team:
Assistant Estimator → Estimator → Senior Estimator
We prefer to train and promote from within, giving you a clear path for advancement.
Qualifications
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Construction experience (field or office) preferred but not required
- Experience reading plans is a plus (we will train the right person)
