The Embassy Suites Houston Galleria is seeking a dynamic and service-driven Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our leadership team. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who is passionate about guest experience, operational excellence, and team development.

The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in leading hotel operations while ensuring exceptional service delivery, strong financial performance, and compliance with brand standards.

Position Summary

The Assistant General Manager works closely with the General Manager to oversee daily hotel operations, support department leaders, and ensure a positive experience for both guests and team members. This position plays a key role in maintaining Embassy Suites brand standards, driving guest satisfaction scores, and ensuring the hotel operates efficiently and profitably.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership

  • Assist the General Manager in overseeing all aspects of hotel operations including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to Hilton brand standards and operational procedures.
  • Provide leadership coverage for the hotel, including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
  • Monitor daily operations including occupancy, staffing levels, and service delivery.

Guest Experience

  • Lead efforts to maintain and improve guest satisfaction scores and online reputation.
  • Respond to guest concerns and service recovery opportunities with professionalism and urgency.
  • Ensure the hotel delivers the Embassy Suites experience, including exceptional breakfast and evening reception service.

Team Leadership

  • Support hiring, onboarding, and training of team members.
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to department leaders and staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and service excellence.

Financial Performance

  • Assist with labor management, scheduling, and productivity goals.
  • Monitor departmental expenses and help ensure the hotel operates within budget.
  • Support initiatives that improve revenue, operational efficiency, and profitability.

Compliance & Property Standards

  • Ensure the hotel meets Hilton quality assurance and safety standards.
  • Support preventative maintenance programs and property condition initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hotel management experience preferred (Front Office Manager, Operations Manager, or similar role).
  • Experience with Hilton or full-service hotel operations strongly preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent guest service and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with hotel management systems and operational reporting preferred.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
