Hotel Equities, an award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to join the team at the Hyatt Place Seattle/Downtown.

Hyatt Place Seattle/Downtown is centrally located in the heart of Seattle, just steps from Seattle Center and only blocks from the Space Needle. The hotel features 160 recently renovated guest rooms and 2,632 sq. ft. of meeting space, along with amenities such as complimentary high-speed Wi‑Fi, a 24‑hour fitness center, and daily breakfast. Guests enjoy close proximity to major attractions including the Space Needle, Climate Pledge Arena, Pike Place Market, and the Puget Sound waterfront.

About the Role

The Assistant General Manager supports the daily operations of the hotel to ensure an exceptional guest experience and efficient, profitable performance. This role works closely with the General Manager and department leaders to maintain brand standards, drive service excellence, and foster a collaborative workplace.

The Assistant General Manager role requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends, holidays, and occasional overnight shifts. As a member of the hotel’s emergency response team, the position supports the operation during critical or unexpected situations. This role involves a variable schedule based on business needs and is not structured as a traditional Monday–Friday, 9–5 position.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing daily operations across front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, reservations, guest services, security, and maintenance.
  • Assisting in maximizing ADR, occupancy, and overall revenue performance.
  • Supporting communication flow between Sales and Operational departments.
  • Coaching, training, and mentoring department supervisors.
  • Interpreting and participating in financial planning, including budgets and staffing guidelines.
  • Managing scheduling, monitoring expenses, and implementing cost‑saving strategies.
  • Supporting the development and execution of operational policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Overseeing safety and compliance programs, including training and reporting requirements.
  • Contributing to a positive, inclusive, and service‑focused work environment.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hotel management experience required, preferably in a select‑service environment.
  • Experience with Hyatt brand standards or Hyatt systems strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in understanding financial reports, budgeting, and staffing guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver strong guest service outcomes.
  • Experience developing or implementing operational procedures and systems.
  • Ability to support safety and compliance programs, including training and reporting.
  • Strong initiative, analytical abilities, and follow‑through.

Pay: $80,200.00 - $86,000.00 per year
