Assistant General Manager

$45,000 – $55,000 annually (based on experience)

Schedule:

Weekends, holidays, evenings, and on-call availability as needed

PME Hospitality is seeking a hands-on, energetic, and service-driven Assistant General Manager to help lead the newly renovated Holiday Inn Savannah I-95 Gateway. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional ready to grow into a General Manager position while gaining exposure to hotel operations, sales, team leadership, and owner relations.

The AGM will work directly with the General Manager and corporate leadership to drive guest satisfaction, team accountability, revenue growth, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

  • Assist in overseeing daily hotel operations including Front Office, Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Guest Services
  • Ensure compliance with IHG Hotels & Resorts brand standards, safety requirements, and service expectations
  • Conduct daily property walks and address operational deficiencies immediately
  • Assist with labor management, scheduling, and productivity controls

Guest Experience

  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional guest service
  • Resolve guest concerns, service recovery situations, and online reputation management
  • Monitor guest satisfaction scores, reviews, and service trends

Team Development

  • Recruit, interview, train, and coach team members
  • Hold department leaders accountable for performance standards
  • Support employee engagement, culture, and retention efforts

Sales & Revenue Support

  • Assist with local sales initiatives, account development, and community networking
  • Help drive occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR goals
  • Support group business, local negotiated accounts, and revenue opportunities

Financial Performance

  • Assist with budgets, purchasing controls, inventory, and expense management
  • Review daily reports, payroll, and month-end processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years hotel management or supervisory experience
  • Previous branded hotel experience preferred (IHG Hotels & Resorts experience strongly preferred)
  • Experience with PMS systems such as HotelKey, or similar
  • Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and lead by example
  • Sales or revenue management experience is a plus
