Assistant General Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant General Manager to join our team and lead with energy and enthusiasm. In this pivotal role, you will support the overall management of the store, ensuring smooth daily operations, exceptional customer service, and a motivating environment for staff. Your leadership will drive sales growth, optimize inventory control, and uphold high standards of merchandising and store presentation. Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS system oversight
  • Lead and supervise team members, providing training, coaching, and development to enhance performance
  • Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, merchandising, and pricing strategies to maximize sales potential
  • Coordinate recruiting efforts by interviewing candidates and participating in employee orientation programs
  • Ensure excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining high standards of communication skills
  • Manage scheduling shifts efficiently to meet business needs while promoting a positive work environment
  • Support marketing initiatives and promotional activities to boost store visibility and sales growth
  • MUST BE AVAILABLE ON THE WEEKENDS

Skills

  • Strong leadership with supervisory experience in retail management or assistant manager roles
  • Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly valued
  • Proficiency in inventory control, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and retail math
  • Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, merchandising, and pricing strategies
  • Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and cashiering operations
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and develop team members effectively
  • Exceptional organizational skills with time management expertise to prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Knowledge of retail sales techniques including marketing and promotional planning
  • Ability to manage budgets, perform retail math calculations accurately, and oversee store operations seamlessly
  • Familiarity with wireless sales or grocery store environments is a plus
