The purpose of the role is to oversee day to day seamless running of the restaurant by providing a highly efficient and effective service whilst ensuring financial and statutory requirements are met, support is given to deliver an outstanding customer service and teams are supported in their continues professional and personal development.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM THIS POSITION...


  • Effectively oversee and direct the restaurant is a smooth and operational manner, ensuring departments are organised to provide exceptional service,
  • Manage all staff members to the agreed standards of food service during operating hours,
  • Work closely with the General Manager to improve PNL costs and manage wage costs,
  • Guide and lead by example in all areas of restaurant conduct,
  • Respond to any changes in the restaurant as dictated by the needs of the operations and company,
  • Ensure all managers are well briefed on the daily responsibilities and are given constant supervision and motivation on all aspects of their work,
  • Ensure daily briefings are led and all staff are made aware of menu changes, event menus and any changes to operations or standards prior to commencement of service,
  • Actively seek feedback from customers and employees, and positively and efficiently deal with any complaints and comments,
  • Monitor that standards and controls for health and safety, hygiene, risk assessments, COSHH, manual handling are maintained as prescribed by legislation, the company and independent auditors,
  • Train and develop employees, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their duties – manage training needs, provide regular constructive feedback, arrange, and oversee development plans,
  • Oversee completion of regular job chats, probationary reviews, return to work interviews, wellbeing chats and risk assessments,
  • Promote a positive learning culture and ensure all team members feel valued and rewarded,
  • Participate in recruitment and selection, as well as training and development of new and existing team members,
  • Assist in disciplinary and grievance process through note taking, investigations and chairing the meetings, and assure the processes are managed in line with People practices and policies.
