Job Summary:

Simply Southern is a nationally recognized apparel brand that celebrates the preppy American lifestyle. Founded in Greensboro, NC in 2005, Simply Southern has been creating vibrant, catchy t-shirts and clothing for more than a decade. Simply Southern began as a small apparel kiosk in a mall in 2005. Today, Simply Southern is sold by over 6,000 independent retailers and has 27 of our own retail stores throughout 12 states. Between our corporate office, production facility, and retail locations, Simply Southern employs over 400 people. Simply Southern is passionate about helping the less fortunate and using our success for good. Simply Southern donates to a variety of organizations but are best known for our efforts to help sea turtle conservation and ChildFund International. To date, Simply Southern has donated over 11 million in cash and merchandise.

The Graphic Designer Assistant will work with the Art Director, Fashion Designer and Graphic Designers to assist in the organizing and creation of new products. The Graphic Design Assistant will take and edit photos, enter data into the website and sales platforms, create website banners, email blasts, catalogs and other marketing materials. They will also photograph and organize samples and assist in creating product and packaging CADs. This role will also serve as a resource for special projects as needed. They will need to have excellent organization and time management skills as well as the ability to effectively multi-task. This position will require general knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator, good communication skills, and the ability to self-start, work independently, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Photography & Videography experience
• Degree in a design-related field or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience in a design role (in-house designers will not be a good fit for this role)
• Microsoft Office experience required – Word, Excel, Office.
• Proficiency with design software and technologies, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Corel
• Familiarity with tools like Dropbox, Constant Contact, and other email marketing software.
• Willingness to work in a variety of types of software from Canva to WordPress to PowerPoint to InDesign
• Comfortable with receiving creative direction and feedback from both the client and team members
• Self-directed problem solver who is comfortable with asking questions when they get stuck
• Email Marketing
• Print Design (Brochures, Presentations, Billboards, etc.)
• Attention to detail, creative thinking, and commitment to high quality work is a must.
• Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment/Job Conditions:

• General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.
• Noise level is usually low to medium
• Occasional lifting of up to 35 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time, in-office

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
