Assistant Graphic Designer & Print Production Specialist

Job Overview
We’re a locally owned small printing and sign shop specializing in custom signs, banners, decals, apparel, and large-format printing. We’re hands-on, fast-paced, and quality-focused. We’re looking for a versatile team member who’s comfortable designing and producing projects and seeing them through production.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse projects, including signage, advertising materials, digital content, and branding campaigns.

Duties

• Create and prepare designs for print using Adobe Illustrator (Photoshop experience a plus)
• Set up and run print jobs on large-format printers and other production equipment
• Vinyl cutting, weeding, masking, and application
• Lamination, trimming, and finishing printed materials
• Assist with sign assembly and occasional installations
• Review files for accuracy, color, sizing, and print readiness
• Keep production areas clean and organized

Required Experience & Skills

• Experience with graphic design for print (signage or large-format preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
• Print production experience (vinyl, banners, decals, signage, etc.)
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and with a team

Skills

Preferred

• Experience with large-format printers, laminators, or plotters
• Sign installation experience
• Knowledge of color management and print workflows
• Customer-facing experience in a print or sign shop
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) along with familiarity in CorelDRAW and Sketch for versatile design capabilities
• Strong understanding of art direction, branding strategies, typography, color theory, and visual design principles
• Skilled in layout design for print advertising, signage manufacturing, presentation materials, and digital art projects
• Strong presentation skills to communicate concepts effectively to clients or internal teams
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
