Job Description:
The Winston-Salem Dash are the High-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox and are searching for a highly motivated individual to join our Grounds Crew as an Assistant Groundskeeper. This assistant will report directly to the Head Groundskeeper.
Job Duties And Responsibilities:
- Assist in maintaining the playing surface at 951 Truist Stadium including but not limited to turf areas, infield dirt, mound and home plate areas, bullpens, and warning track, as well as some common areas around the stadium
- All cultural practices such as aerifying, verti-cutting, top dressing, edging, and fertility program
- Irrigation maintenance and repair
- Assist with field tarp and weather-related situations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2 year degree in Sports Turf or related field, or equivalent prior experience
- Strong time-management skills
- Good interpersonal skills and able to professionally interact with coaches, players and team personnel
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Ability to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms for extended periods of time
- Available to work weekends, holidays, and nights based on schedule
Training:
All new hires in the Winston-Salem Merchandise department will be thoroughly trained in all job duties and responsibilities. You will receive training and skills needed to be successful with the Winston-Salem Dash or any other professional team.
