KVC is seeking an experienced and driven Assistant HR Compliance Manager to provide oversight and expertise across multi-state contractual compliance and audit readiness. This role is critical to ensuring regulatory excellence, leading a high-performing HR Compliance team, and supporting the organization’s mission through consistent, ethical, and people-centered practices. This is a hybrid position, with some travel required, and mandatory in-person attendance at New Employee Orientation (NEO).

The purpose of this role is to maintain expert knowledge of all state contractual compliance requirements, successfully pass state audits, and provide leadership to the HR Compliance team. The role blends hands-on compliance work with team leadership, audit coordination, legal monitoring, and risk management, working under limited supervision of the Senior Human Resources Compliance Manager.
Lead, supervise, and develop the HR Compliance team, ensuring consistent performance and professional growth
Ensure audit readiness and lead compliance efforts for internal and external audits
Maintain current knowledge of employment laws and regulatory updates; communicate changes to HR leadership
Support and standardize onboarding and HR compliance processes
Oversee employment verifications, background checks, and HR compliance inquiries
Assign and track required trainings and attend New Employee Orientation (NEO) in person to support a compliant and welcoming onboarding experience
Generate HRIS and compliance reports, including support for EEOC and DOL reporting
Identify, assess, and assist in mitigating HR-related compliance risks
Model ethical leadership, confidentiality, and KVC’s values in all interactions
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the HR Compliance function
Bachelor’s degree preferred with two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of two years of progressive experience in Human Resources or Compliance; five years preferred
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Strong public speaking skills and experience managing direct reports
Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, and regulatory documents
Strong written communication and reporting skills
PHR and/or SHRM-CP preferred
Must be at least 21 years of age
Valid driver’s license and valid auto insurance
Hybrid work schedule
In-person attendance required for New Employee Orientation (NEO)
Some travel required
