We use the Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and Twos to deliver warm, consistent, relationship-based infant care. Position Summary

The Assistant Infant Teacher - Avondale supports our Lead Infant Teacher in delivering high-quality, consistent care to infants ages 6 weeks to 12 months at our Avondale campus. This role is built for someone dependable, caring, and ready to develop their skills in infant care within a Gold-rated, community-focused program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in carrying out daily infant care routines using the Creative Curriculum
  • Provide attentive hands-on care: feeding, diapering, comforting, and supporting infant development throughout the day
  • Keep the Avondale infant classroom clean, organized, and compliant with Ohio DCY health, safety, and Step Up to Quality standards
  • Actively supervise infants at all times during all activities, meals, rest, and transitions
  • Assist with documentation of feedings, diapering, and daily routines using available digital tools
  • Greet and communicate respectfully with Avondale families at drop-off and pick-up
  • Prepare classroom materials and assist with room organization and setup as directed by Lead Teacher
  • Follow all Water Lily Learning Center, DCY, and Step Up to Quality policies and expectations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; ECE coursework, CDA, or Associate degree preferred
  • Prior experience in a licensed childcare or early education setting preferred; infant experience a plus
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification required prior to working with children
  • Patient, dependable, and genuinely caring toward infants and their families
  • Physical ability to perform infant caregiving duties including lifting, bending, and floor work throughout the shift
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills in a multi-staff classroom environment
  • Must meet all Ohio DCY employment eligibility requirements including applicable clearances

Schedule and Compensation

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday

$14- $16/hr based on experience and qualifications
