Job Purpose: As an Assistant IT Support Technician, you will provide day-to-day technical support for our employees, assisting with hardware, software, network issues, and other IT-related tasks.

Reports to: ICT Manager (dotted line to MSO)

Key Responsibilities:

IT Technical and Audio-Visual Support:

  • Installation and configuration of devices such as computers, laptops, printers, iPads, IWB screens, projectors, multimedia products, and any other IT related equipment.
  • Set up user accounts, emails, office applications and other software on end user devices.
  • Respond to IT support tickets, phone calls, emails, walked in queries or in person.
  • Assist users in resolving technical problems with desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, iPads and other IT related equipment.
  • Assist in routine maintenance of devices and updates of software, hardware, and other IT related systems.
  • Provide assistance to users regarding applications, software, and hardware functionalities.
  • Maintain documentation for IT issues, resolutions, and any ongoing maintenance processes, repairs and audit activities.
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity issues, including Wi-Fi, connections.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the IT Manager.
  • Oversee the management, organisation and set-up of audio-visual requirements for school assemblies, parent meetings, awards ceremonies, school engagement sessions etc.

Skills and Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum diploma or higher diploma in Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, IOS), and common software applications (Microsoft Office, teams, SharePoint, etc.).

Certifications:

  • Industry certifications like Microsoft, CompTIA or other IT-related certifications related to technical support.

Experience:

  • Ideally a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar IT support role within a reputable organization, preferably in a multicultural work environment.
  • Willing to work after-hours, weekends and holidays when required for system updates, projects, schedule tasks or urgent issues.
