As the Assistant Kitchen Manager you will:

  • Drives batch/production tasting and a high level of execution
  • Provide support for kitchen team, including handling complaints and critical issues.
  • Train kitchen team to perform all required duties, ensuring they have all tools needed to perform their duties to the fullest.
  • Organize and supervise kitchen team. Keep them engaged and coach them on service and quality standards
  • Assist with weekly product inventory counts and data entry
  • Assist Kitchen Manager with monitoring team to ensure a consistency.
  • Assist Kitchen Manager with managing food cost, shrink, waste, and product yields.
  • Assist Kitchen Manager with labor controls and scheduling
  • Assist Kitchen Manager with managing prep schedules and overall food production.
  • Assume the role of Kitchen Manager in their absence.
  • Assure adherence to all standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation in conjunction with the specifications.
  • Complete knowledge of CCP (critical control points)

Achieves company objectives in service, quality, consistency, and appearance of facility. Upholds all sanitation and cleanliness standards and requirements. Helps to prepare required paperwork, including forms, reports and schedules, as it relates to company, federal, state, county, municipal, and health department requirements/regulations, in an organized and timely manner

Qualifications

  • Passion for food and the industry
  • Have extensive knowledge of cooking and use of professional cooking equipment
  • 2+ years experience in culinary arts, restaurants or other related fields.
  • 1 year minimum in a leadership role managing a culinary team
  • Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact and engage with a diverse population with compassion and patience.
  • Food Manager Certification.
  • Willing and able to lift 50lbs. and be continuously on your feet and walking.

Candidate must be willing to work day, mid and/or night shifts to include weekends and holidays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
