The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) is the supervisory and regulatory authority of the banking and insurance sector in the United Arab Emirates. CBUAE is responsible for enhancing monetary management, financial stability, and protecting consumers through effective supervision of licensed financial institutions, prudent management of reserves, robust financial infrastructure, and the adoption of digital technologies.
We are seeking an Assistant Legal Counsel – Corporate and International Matters to support management by providing expert legal advice on CBUAE matters and strategies, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Core Responsibilities

Provide legal review, guidance, and advice on a variety of legal issues linked to corporate and international matters impacting the CBUAE.

Corporate matters, including local and international agreements and MoUs, vendor contracts, and other corporate matters.

Stay up-to-date on the latest developments related to relevant regulations/legislations impacting corporate and international matters.

Lead the legal support for sensitive legal corporate and international matters (e.g., sensitive MoUs with international organisations).

Manage stakeholders within the scope of work, including business units and external lawyers.

Review and approve the work of external law firms when legal work is outsourced related to Corporate and International Matters.

Draft agreements and MoUs, vendor contracts, and other corporate matters, such as AOA’s, MOA’s, SHA’s, etc.

Perform any other duties within the scope of work as required by the line manager.
Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law.

A minimum of 5 years of legal experience as in-house legal counsel and/or at a large law firm.

Experience in corporate legal support (e.g., contracts, international MOUs and agreements, internal investigations)

Exposure to derivatives law, and financial services regulatory experience

Proficient in English and Arabic
