Assistant maintenance staff

Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Maintenance Staff member to join our dynamic facilities team. In this role, you will support the maintenance and repair of our residential environment, ensuring all systems operate efficiently and safely. Your energetic approach will help keep our facilities in top condition, contributing to a safe, functional, and welcoming space for residents, staff, and visitors alike. Key Responsibilities

· Perform basic repairs on plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems
and fixtures to maintain building functionality and safety.

· Conduct routine inspections of equipment, machinery, and facilities to identify maintenance needs.

· Assist with preventive maintenance tasks to ensure long-term operational efficiency.

· Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff, residents, or tenants.

· Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance areas and tools.

· Keep inventory of maintenance supplies and notify supervisors of low stock.

· Document completed tasks and report issues to supervisors.

· Assist in emergency repairs as needed.

· General janitorial tasks such as trash removal, general cleaning

Required Skills and Qualifications

· Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with tools, appliances, and building systems.

· Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems.

· Ability to follow safety protocols and operate equipment safely.

· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Physical capability to lift, carry, and perform manual tasks.

• Good communication skills in English for clear documentation and teamwork

· Previous experience in maintenance, construction, or home improvement is preferred but not always required.

· Not required but helpful: HVAC, OSHA, CPR, or other relevant safety and technical credentials

Work Environment

· Maintenance assistants typically work in schools, hospitals, office buildings, apartment complexes, or private residences.

· The role
involves a mix of onsite physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and using
hand or power tools.

• Previous supervising or leadership experience in maintenance roles is advantageous
• Customer service orientation with a proactive attitude toward problem-solving

Pay: $23.38 - $28.16 per hour
