Assistant Manager

Job Summary
Seeking motivated and experienced Assistant Manager with food experience. @ Playa Bowls location in historic St. Augustine on St. George street. Responsible for learning all manager duties.

The ideal candidate will support the store in performing and overseeing daily operations:

  • Ensure exceptional customer service and delivering incredible bowls, smoothies and other yummy and healthy products.
  • Have a welcoming personality and add to the relaxed, respectful and fun vibe of the brand.
  • Enjoy talking to customers and be sociable.
  • Perform opening, closing and daily operations.
  • Scheduling of staff, ordering, inventory, cleaning.
  • Must be local to STA historic district, have open schedule and know how to work.
  • Understand social media and have experience posting on TT, IG + FB.
  • Have ability to use technology on smart phone and computer to order, staff, and keep track of shop operations.
  • Know how to work quickly during busy times. Have a sense of urgency.
  • Have food experience

  • This position is full time. We are looking for a reliable person to become a main person at the store.
  • No students for this position as we don't want seasonal person going 'home' for important times of the year. (Applying for team member if you are student if hiring)

You will learn all things Playa Bowls and run a crew of 2+ people per shift delivering the most delicious and nutritious super-fruit bowls ever! We guarantee this position with tips earns $21+ per hour.

WHO YOU ARE

You’re a positive and enthusiastic people-person, who may just so happen to have a passion for fruit, superfoods, and all things healthy! As the Assistant Manager, you will be working cohesively with the team performing all tasks that staff does along with additional management duties. From training new employees to strategically resolving problems. If you enjoy fast-paced environments, career growth, entrepreneurial thinking, innovation, and an occasional silly food pun, we want you!

WHAT YOU’LL DO

● Check products to ensure consistency, palatability, and quality

● Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, and accommodations

● Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity

● Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food to make sure it’s up to Company Standards

● Schedule staff hours utilizing appropriate systems/software and assign duties to ensure economical use of food and timely preparation

● Review work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service,

performance, or safety

● Perform some food preparation or service tasks such as prepping, clear tables and serving food and drinks when necessary

● Maintain food and equipment inventories and keep inventory records

● Monitor compliance with health and fire regulations regarding food preparation and serving, and building maintenance in lodging and dining facilities

● Order and purchase product, equipment, and supplies

● Organize and direct worker training programs, resolve personnel problems, and evaluate

employee performances

● Assess Team Member's needs, and recruit new hires using Company methods such as ADP

WFN, advertisements, or attendance at job fairs

● Arrange for equipment maintenance and repairs, and coordinate a variety of services such as waste removal and pest control

● Utilize POS system, operate cash register and make bank deposits.

● Fill out business or government forms, maintain records, reports, or files and safety reports

● Adhere to company opening and closing procedures and maintain accompanying records

● Fill in for General Manager in the event of an extended absence

REQUIREMENTS

● Must pass the ServSafe certification within 40 days of employment.

● Must be available to work weekend, weekdays + some holidays.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS

● Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time

● Must be able to lift or otherwise move 25-40 pounds occasionally

● Must be able to retrieve items from high and low shelving, the fridge/freezer, and under counters.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
