Assistant Manager – Audit & Tax

Role Overview

The Assistant Manager – Audit & Tax will support and lead audit, tax, and advisory engagements, ensuring high-quality service delivery, compliance with applicable laws and standards, and timely completion of assignments. The role requires strong technical knowledge, client-handling skills, and the ability to supervise junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

Audit & Assurance

· Plan, execute, and finalize statutory audits, internal audits, and special assignments.

· Ensure compliance with International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and applicable local regulations.

· Review working papers, financial statements, and audit reports.

· Coordinate with clients to obtain information and resolve audit issues efficiently.

Taxation

· Manage preparation and review of income tax returns, sales tax returns, and withholding tax statements.

· Handle tax compliance, notices, and correspondence with FBR and provincial authorities.

· Assist in tax advisory, tax planning, and assessment proceedings.

· Stay updated with changes in tax laws, SROs, and regulatory requirements.

Client Management & Advisory

· Act as a key point of contact for assigned clients.

· Provide professional advice on accounting, taxation, and compliance matters.

· Assist in proposals, quotations, and onboarding of new clients.

Team & Internal Coordination

· Supervise, guide, and review work of junior staff and trainees.

· Ensure adherence to internal policies, timelines, and quality standards.

· Assist partners/managers in improving processes and service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

· CA (Finalist / CAF cleared), ACCA (Affiliate / Member)

· 3–5 years of relevant experience in Audit & Tax with a CA firm or consulting company

· Strong understanding of:

o Companies Act, 2017

o Income Tax Ordinance, 2001

o Sales Tax Act, 1990

o IFRSs & ISAs

Skills & Competencies

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

· Good communication and client-handling ability

· Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and accounting software (ERP exposure is a plus)

· Ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines

· Professional judgment, integrity, and attention to detail
