About the Role
The Collection & Recovery Department of Emirates NBD Bank safeguards the bank’s asset quality by ensuring the timely recovery of overdue and defaulted financing facilities. The Legal Collections Unit within the department plays a critical role in pursuing legal remedies when amicable recovery efforts fail. All actions are guided by UAE civil laws, Central Bank regulations with a focus on ethical, fair, and professional practices across Retail portfolios.
What You'll Do
The Assistant Manager is responsible for leading and managing the team within the ENBD Financial Remediation department. This includes overseeing debit, settlements tracking, petty cash management, external lawyer and agency invoices processing, deceased insurance claims processing and ensuring all operational processes are compliant and efficient to support timely recoveries.
Team Leadership & Performance Management

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of collection officers managing accounts overdue from 1 to 180 days.

Set and monitor individual and team KPIs aligned with overall collection targets.

Conduct regular performance appraisals and coaching to enhance team effectiveness.
Portfolio Management & Collection Strategy

Oversee daily operations to ensure timely follow-up on delinquent accounts.

Develop and execute collection plans tailored to different customer segments and delinquency stages.

Monitor portfolio aging and prioritize accounts based on risk and recovery potential.
Customer Engagement & Negotiation
-
Guide the team to engage professionally and ethically with customers for repayment discussions, restructuring, or settlement offers.

Personally intervene in escalated or complex cases requiring senior-level negotiation.

Ensure all customer interactions comply with Central Bank Regulations and internal policies.
Process Compliance & Governance

Ensure adherence to UAE Central Bank guidelines, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

Maintain accurate records and documentation for all collection activities.

Always protect customer confidentiality and sensitive data.
Reporting & Analytics

Prepare and present regular MIS reports on team performance, collection progress, and portfolio health.

Analyze trends and identify bottlenecks or opportunities to improve collection effectiveness.

Recommend enhancements to policies and procedures to optimize recovery rates.
Cross-Functional Coordination
-
Collaborate with credit risk, legal, operations, and customer service teams to resolve cases efficiently.

Support the legal team by preparing documentation for accounts that may require escalation.

Support internal audits, regulatory reviews, and compliance functions with case-level documentation and updates.

Ensure all legal actions are conducted in a respectful, and customer-conscious manner, maintaining the bank’s reputation.
What You'll Need

Bachelor’s degree

1–2 years of experience in team supervision or leadership.

Familiarity with collection software platforms (e.g., Finnone and MS Office).

Ability to interpret and apply banking concepts to legal enforcement.

Skilled in preparing legal documents, reviewing contracts, and interacting with legal authorities.

A proactive and customer-centric approach.
