Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Assistant Construction Manager to join our team. This role is essential in supporting construction projects by assisting skilled tradespeople and ensuring that work sites are organized and safe. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to travel throughout Orange County, Riverside County, and Los Angeles County.

Duties

  • Supervise the preparation and cleanup of construction sites, including loading and unloading materials.
  • Support skilled tradespeople in various tasks.
  • Operate basic hand tools and power tools while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure safety and efficiency on-site.
  • Meet with property owners, discuss project specifications, prepare progress reports, and maintain clear communication with all parties involved.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Assist the supervisor in ensuring that all jobs are completed according to plans, are within budget and according to promised deadlines.
  • Follow instructions from supervisor and communicate effectively with team members.
  • Help with measuring, cutting, and assembling materials as needed for various projects.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate daily and weekly activity logs.
  • Attend pre-construction, progress, and other meetings.
  • Basic knowledge of construction practices and terminology.
  • Demonstrating role model behaviors on ethics and integrity as well as positively promoting Company culture.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in one or more relevant trades: plumbing, electrical, HVAC, superintendent and construction management.
  • Skilled at developing and negotiating relationships with owners and trade contractors.
  • Acuity in reading plans and specs.
  • Proficiency at project estimates & project scope.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
