Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager – Industrial Engineering will be responsible for planning, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes, methods, and layouts to improve productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The role will focus on driving lean initiatives, standardizing work practices, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard operating times.

· Implement lean manufacturing tools (Kaizen, 5S, SMED, Poka-Yoke) to optimize processes.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

· Design and optimize plant layouts for efficient material flow and space utilization.

· Prepare capacity plans and manpower requirements based on production forecasts.

· Support expansion projects, new product introduction, and automation initiatives.

· Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPI) such as productivity, downtime, and utilization.

· Provide insights and recommendations for performance improvement based on data analysis.

· Work closely with production, maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams.

· Support training of operators and supervisors on new processes and productivity standards.

· Participate in audits and compliance-related activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

· Strong knowledge of industrial engineering principles and lean tools.

· Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD (for layout design), and production planning tools.

· Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.

· Strong project management and team-handling capabilities.

· Education: Bachelor’s in industrial engineering / mechanical engineering / production engineering (Master’s preferred).

· Experience: 5–8 years of relevant experience in Industrial Engineering in a manufacturing environment, preferably with exposure to lean manufacturing and automation projects.
