Assistant Manager - Mechanical

JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong expertise in CAD design, Design for Manufacturability (DFM), installation and inspection of dynamic systems. The ideal candidate will contribute to the full product lifecycle from concept development through production, testing, and commissioning ensuring that designs meet performance, safety, and quality standards.

QUALIFICATION:
 Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
 1-3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with dynamic or motion-based systems (e.g., robotics, machinery, automation, aerospace, or automotive).
 Proficiency in SolidWorks, (experience with GD&T and 2D drafting would be a plus).
 Strong knowledge of DFM/DFA principles, materials, and manufacturing processes (machining, sheet metal, welding, etc.).
 Hands-on experience with system installation, testing, and inspection in an industrial or R&D setting.
 Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams.

SKILLS:

KEY RESPONSIBILITY  Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings for dynamic mechanical systems and components.  Apply DFM principles to optimize designs for cost-effective manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance.  Support installation, commissioning, and inspection of mechanical systems in the field or production environment.  Conduct tolerance analysis, materials selection, and design verification to ensure compliance with performance and safety requirements.  Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, electrical, and controls) to ensure seamless system integration.  Perform root cause analysis and support continuous improvement initiatives.  Maintain documentation and revision control within the company’s PLM or CAD data management system.
