General Overview:
The Assistant Manager of Social Services (AMSS) plays a supportive role in the operations of the Case Management department at SALT's main location and select locations within the Tri-County area (Orlando, Seminole, Osceola). The AMSS works closely with the Manager of Social Services (MSS) to assist in program development, team leadership, case management operations, and coordination with community partners. This role provides administrative support and ensures that the Case Management department is running smoothly while contributing to overall service delivery goals. The AMSS will also assist with supervision of social work interns, documentation, and crisis management as needed.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Development and Planning
- Assist the MSS with the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Case Management program.
- Help identify areas for program improvement and assist in developing strategies to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.
- Collect and track data to support the MSS in evaluating the effectiveness of program operations.
Team Leadership Support
- Provide administrative support to the MSS and Senior Case Managers, assisting in the arrangement of meetings, training sessions, and workshops for Case Management staff.
- Help prepare materials and documents for team meetings and training sessions.
- Assist with the scheduling of team meetings and internal workshops focused on staff development.
- Monitor and document staff performance as needed, assisting in staff evaluations and follow-up.
Case Management
- Provide support to the MSS in overseeing day-to-day operations of the Case Management program.
- Assist in setting goals for the department, track progress, and support the execution of goals.
- Help manage case documentation and assist with client intake or follow-up as required.
Collaboration and Coordination
- Assist the MSS in building relationships with service providers and community partners.
- Coordinate meetings and tours with other community organizations for Case Management staff and leadership.
- Support the MSS in connecting with local Universities and Colleges to provide opportunities for social work internships.
Documentation
- Assist with the maintenance of accurate, up-to-date case files and documentation in line with organizational policies.
- Regularly review documentation practices and assist in ensuring compliance with privacy and legal guidelines.
- Help identify areas for documentation improvement and recommend changes.
Intern Supervision Support
- Assist with the supervision of social work interns, providing support and guidance as they complete their internship requirements.
- Participate in orientation sessions for new interns and assist with ongoing training.
- Offer mentoring and coaching to interns, helping them integrate into the Case Management team.

Qualifications:
Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor in Social Work (BSW) or related field
- At least 1 year of Management or Supervisory experience in a Social Services Setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
- Ability to be flexible to working conditions
- Must be able to work independently
- Proper Time Management Skills
- Organized accurate, thorough, detail-oriented, and able to monitor work for quality
- Intermediate level with MS Office Suite and Google Docs and Google sheets
Preferences
- Experience in working with the homeless population
- Masters Degree
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, sprint, run, and patrol for extended periods
- Must hear and see well (either naturally or with correction)
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead
- A considerable amount of time making repetitive motions
- Work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interactions with customers
- Ability to function with frequent temperature changes between indoors and out
- Work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain
- Stand and walk continuously for up to 8-10 hours during a shift while providing customer care
- Considerable amount of time using a telephone and computer
- Sit at a desk and use a computer for extended periods to perform data entry and
administrative tasks
- Answer phone calls and communicate with colleagues and clients verbally throughout
the day
- Use hands and fingers for typing and operating office equipment, such as printers
and scanners
- Use hands and fingers for precise mouse movements and keyboard shortcuts
- Review and analyze printed materials for accuracy and quality
- Attend meetings and collaborate with team members in various office settings
- Collaborate with colleagues and communicate professionally in person and via email
- Sit at a workstation and use a computer to respond to customer inquiries and resolve
issues
- Use a headset to communicate with customers over the phone for extended periods
- Navigate between multiple software systems to access customer information
- Occasionally stand and walk within the office to consult with supervisors or assist
colleagues
- Attend meetings and collaborate with team members when needed
