Assistant Manager - Restaurant

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Assistant Manager to lead our restaurant team to success! Duties

  • Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Supervise and motivate staff to deliver outstanding customer service and efficient food delivery
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure quality standards are met consistently
  • Handle cash transactions, POS system operations (including Aloha POS and Micros POS), and cash handling procedures accurately
  • Control inventory levels through regular stock checks, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste
  • Train new team members on food safety, food handling, service protocols, and restaurant policies
  • Manage shift schedules, coordinate staffing needs, and ensure smooth shift transitions
  • Support management in budgeting, cost control, and maintaining profitability
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all areas of the restaurant
  • Foster a positive team environment through effective training & development initiatives

Experience

  • Proven assistant manager or supervisory experience within the food service industry or quick service & fast food restaurants
  • Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen management practices
  • Hands-on experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for sales processing and reporting
  • Strong background in inventory control, food safety standards, and food handling procedures
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in staff training, team management, and interviewing candidates
  • Experience managing restaurant operations in casual dining or fine dining environments is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with budgeting, cost control measures, and hospitality management principles
  • Background in catering, banquet service, or hotel food service is a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle guest concerns professionally
  • Knowledge of barista or coffee service experience is advantageous for diverse restaurant concepts
