Assistant Manager – Safety (HSE)

Job Purpose

To ensure a safe and compliant working environment across retail operations by implementing HSE policies, minimizing risks, and promoting a strong safety culture among employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local labor and safety laws in Pakistan
  • Implement and monitor HSE policies, SOPs, and procedures
  • Conduct regular safety inspections across store departments

Risk Assessment & Control

  • Identify workplace hazards and conduct risk assessments
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions
  • Ensure proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

Fire & Emergency Management

  • Maintain fire safety systems (extinguishers, alarms, hydrants)
  • Conduct fire drills and emergency evacuation exercises
  • Coordinate with emergency services when required

Incident Management

  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses
  • Prepare reports and maintain HSE records
  • Ensure timely corrective actions

Training & Awareness

  • Conduct HSE training sessions for staff
  • Develop safety awareness campaigns
  • Ensure new employee safety inductions

Store Operations Safety

  • Monitor safety in:
  • Warehouse & loading/unloading
  • Sales floor & customer areas
  • Electrical & HVAC systems
  • Ensure safe stacking, housekeeping, and aisle clearance

Vendor & Contractor Safety

  • Ensure third-party compliance with safety standards
  • Monitor contractor activities during maintenance or construction

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Engineering / Environmental Sciences)
  • HSE certifications (NEBOSH / IOSH preferred)

Pay: Rs75,000.00 - Rs150,000.00 per month
